Welcome to the Earth Science page. We will explore Earth science including the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and astronomy. This is a lab-based class. That means that we will do various investigations in various ways, but with a focus on designing, carrying out, and reporting self-directed lab investigations.
I hope that the information here helps you learn better. If you have any questions, please e-mail me (joel.gilbert@theriversideschool.org).
Each unit is assessed in four areas: content (30%), science (30%), mission (30%), and student (10%).
Also, the students may work on a page for their cumulative project due in May called their Big Book of Science.
Below is a list of links to unit (p)reviews, guides, images, assignments, and rubrics.
We will not spend much time reviewing this unit as we spent time in past years really focusing on what science is. But, if you'd like a refresher, please click this for an updated look at science images and lecture.
Overview of Earth science is our first unit. The (p)review is here.
